Michael Wolff RDI - Born to Russian émigré parents in 1933 and founder of the eponymous Wolff Olins, the business that defined modern corporate identity. Michael studied architecture, before becoming a product designer, an interior designer and finally a graphic designer. Currently visiting lecturer at University of the Arts and a Senior Fellow at the RCA.
Jonathan Drori CBE – The epitome of an enquiring mind and descendent of pre-war Eastern European Jewish immigrants, science communicator, technologist, film-maker, writer and Chairman of Ravensbourne design college and the H. H. Wingate Foundation.
Lucienne Roberts – Daughter of Viennese émigré and brought up as a Catholic until discovering her Jewish heritage only ten years ago. Lucie is a renowned graphic designer, with particular specialism in the museum world, and through her studio LucienneRoberts+ she works for clients such as the Design Museum, the Wellcome Collection and D&AD. She is co-founder of publisher GraphicDesign&, making books that foreground the relationship of graphic design to all other subjects, and is a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale.
Cecilia Martin – Brand consultant, design strategist, researcher and international speaker working in the cultural sector; Cecilia was born in Spain, educated in the Netherlands and now based in London. After working as Brand Strategist at Summa Barcelona, Cecilia joined London-based Jane Wentworth Associates working with various international cultural institutions, including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Kew Gardens and the V&A Museum of Childhood. From there she moved to Amsterdam to co-found the famous Lava Lab, an innovation lab that mixes strategy, design and technology, part of Lava Design, working for Wiener Konzerhaus and Child Helpline International. Today, she continues to be part of Lava’s creative network while working as a design strategist on international cultural projects.
Mike Dempsey RDI – Mike formed the highly successful design consultancy Carroll, Dempsey and Thirkell in 1979, which he ran for 27 years before setting up Studio Dempsey. Such is the scale of the design recognition he has received, that in 2012 he received a special D&AD Black Pencil for most awarded designer in their 50-year history. He is a member of Alliance Graphic International, a past President of D&AD, a past Master of The Faculty of Royal Designers for Industry, and in 1994 he was made a Royal Designer for Industry.
