The Jewish Museum is nearing the end of a £10m transformation, which will create a new museum and an inspirational place to explore culture, heritage and identity. We are due to reopen in Camden Town on 17 March 2010.
Engaging with people of all ages, backgrounds and faiths the new galleries bring our collections to life by placing the Jewish story into the wider context of British history.
Our new facilities will include:
Come in and meet today's London Jewish community. Discover our medieval mikveh (ritual bath), excavated in 2001.
Explore how and why Jewish people have come to Britain from around the world and how they have become part of British life.
Discover Judiasm, its beliefs and traditions, and enjoy treasures from around the world.
This moving display explores the impact of Nazism through the experiences of Leon Greenman OBE and other survivors who have settled in Britain.
This gallery will house a dynamic programme of changing exhibitions with high profile displays on a wide range of themes.
A welcoming area for creative activities for schools, informal education and family events.
Access a range of resources unique to the museum, including the museum’s archive collection of prints and drawings.
Pop into our new café for lunch or coffee.
Browse our museum shop for the perfect gift.
We urgently need a further £1million to complete this exciting project. We would welcome any donations to the project - your support will make a real difference.
