Programmes

'J' for Jewish stamp in German passport * All educational programmes are tailored to your specific requirements. Using dynamic and interactive teaching and learning strategies, they integrate film footage, photographic images, artefacts, documents, original news publications, maps, exhibitions and workbooks for teachers and pupils. Educational programmes can also be combined with a tour of the synagogue.

These programmes are available for a range of subjects including: History, Citizenship, Religious Education, Art, English and PSHE

WITNESS THE WITNESS
Set within a carefully structured education programme, a Holocaust survivor interacts with students enabling them to hear personal testimony, ask questions and contemplate meaning.
Key Stages 2-5

BE TOUCHED BY HISTORY
Uses artefacts, documents, photographs and maps as tools for examining evidence and developing skills such as interpretation, analysis and empathy.
Key Stages 2-5

THE LAST GOODBYE
Traces the tragic separation of children from their families in order to find safety in Britain in 1938 and 1939. Explores concepts such as prejudice, propaganda, scapegoating, fear, loss, separation and rescue. Links to contemporary areas of conflict and refugee experience.
Key Stages 2-3

ONE SUITCASE
Either in conjunction with The Last Goodbye programme or as a separate session, this programme focuses on the stories of individual Kindertransport refugees, who will meet pupils and tell their story reflecting on the impact of the experience on their life.
Key Stages 2-5

CITIZEN TO CITIZEN
Uses passports, refugee documentation and testimony from Holocaust survivors to stimulate discussion and debate about human rights, identity and democracy. In conjunction with a filmed encounter between Holocaust survivors and young refugees today.
Key Stages 2-5

WHERE WAS GOD?
Uses artefacts, religious objects, personal testimony, artwork, poetry and prayers from Holocaust victims and survivors to examine philosophical and religious questions and responses.
Key Stages 3-5

A BRUSH WITH HISTORY
Uses survivors’ and refugees’ paintings, sketches and sculptures, and artists’ work to stimulate art workshop activities as vehicles for expression.
Key Stages 2-3
