Youth groups and informal education

The Museum’s education team regularly work with pupils from Jewish Youth groups and informal education and from youth organisations in the wider community, to enjoy a varied programme of fun activities and more formal learning experiences. Programmes are planned individually with teachers. |
We can provide varied programmes for pupils from synagogue classes, from Kittah
Alef (age 5) to Bar and Bat Mitzvah and beyond. Examples of past programmes
include:
- Making Mezuzot in glass mosaic
- Arts activities for Hanukah
- Researching and writing Jewish history newspapers
- Meeting Kindertransport children
- Poetry workshop focusing on Jewish identity
We work successfully with youth organisations in the wider community, such as church groups and play schemes. If you run such a group, and would like us to introduce your members to Judaism through enjoyable creative activities, please feel free to contact us.
"You provided a very thought-provoking and rewarding session on Jewish beliefs
and practices around birth and childhood, and the tasks you set were very relevant
to the students' needs and stimulated their interests."
