This page provides an overview of our teaching strategy for GCSE Judaism. Please contact an Education Officer to plan a customised programme for your pupils. |
GCSE pupils have access to a range of handling objects. These, along with discussion and other activities are used as a basis for investigating the many ways in which Judaism is practiced today.
Pupils are encouraged to study objects and symbols in depth, unravelling their many layers of meaning, and to compare the ways in which the various Anglo-Jewish religious movements respond to the challenges posed by Jewish tradition. The learning style is informal. Where possible, study groups are small, to facilitate discussion and ensure individual attention.
Pupils are also able to tour the West London Synagogue, a beautiful and historic 19th synagogue where education programmes are taking place while the Museum is re-developed.
