Education and Resources
Education is at the heart of the Jewish Museum's work, and Museum has established
an outstanding reputation in this field.
"The Museum is an excellent and rare resource for schools to enhance their
teaching and approach to RE, History and Art"
Inspector for RE and Citizenship, LB Greenwich
"The trip made a lasting impression … It has changed my outlook towards racism,
no longer will I sit back and let people make racist comments or jokes in my
presence. I feel it is no-one's right to judge another person by their colour or
race"
Pupil from North London comprehensive school
"As in previous years we value our visit to the Jewish Museum not only because it is a valuable resource in our historical study of the Holocaust but also helping our students’ understanding of the moral and ethical issues involved…Any human being would be affected by such a visit. It makes me more determined as a teacher to educate our young people and speak out against racism."
Teacher, Wigmore High School, Herefordshire
"At a time when suspicion of minorities generally appears to be increasing, [the Jewish Museum’s] message about how a community can arrive over generations and become truly established and thrive, while not losing its difference, is one that needs shouting from the rooftops."
Baroness Neuberger DBE
Through its programme of school visits,
outreach work, lectures, training events, informal learning opportunities and
travelling exhibitions, the Museum aims to bring the Jewish experience alive,
and inspire knowledge and understanding.
We specialise in offering a service tailored to the particular requirements of
every visiting group. While the Museum is closed for development, education programmes will be taking place at the West London Synagogue, Marble Arch. Whatever the age and needs of your learners, we look
forward to welcoming you.
