The Jewish Museum is proud to announce that it has been selected to work with the London Museums Hub as part of MLA’s national Stories of the World programme. The project aims to change the way we work with young people, listening to their voice throughout the museum.
Journeys is an exciting film project created by young people exploring the Jewish Museum collection. Throughout August young people from The Camden Society, Irish Travellers Movement Britain, Central and Cecil Housing Care Support Young Woman’s Hostel and local young individuals worked with The Jewish Museum and film maker Kevin Biderman to produce a series of short films. The films showcase young people’s interpretation and presentation, inspired by museum objects related to the theme of Journeys.
The films are on free public display at the Jewish Museum throughout November. The films will also be used by the museum’s Education Officers as an ongoing educational resource.
Part of London 2012 Cultural Olympiad programme, Stories of the World presents exciting new museum exhibitions across the UK, created by young people. The project is led by the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) in partnership with the London Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG).
