Totally Torah

Through object handling and discussion, students will explore questions such as: What is the Torah? How do different strands of Judaism view the Torah? In the galleries they will see a variety of Torah scrolls from around the world as well as a magnificent 17th century synagogue ark. They will handle Torah decorations and accessories from our collection. In the final part of the workshop students will be introduced to the Hebrew alphabet and will try their hand at writing with a quill and ink.
