Totally Torah: the Art of the Scribe

Art focused workshop

Pupils will be able to see Torah scrolls on display and handle Torah decorations. Students will be led through a series of drawing exercises experimenting with different methods of mark making, line and shading  to explore the fascinating objects in the collection. Pupils will learn about the artistic skills of a scribe and discover all the items he writes and decorates. Pupils will have a chance to write their name in Hebrew with a quill and ink as well as decorate their own scroll with patterns found in the religion gallery.
