Home and Synagogue

Using handling objects, pupils will begin by exploring the key items found in a synagogue, including Torah scrolls, Torah decorations and synagogue lamps. They will then look at and handle ritual objects found in a Jewish home, focusing on mezuzahs, candlesticks and kiddush cups. They will discover what they are used for, why they are special and whether they always look the same. The session will conclude with a related craft activity.

Full day workshop. A half-day workshop can also be booked about either Home or Synagogue.
